Some of the Most Overpaid Jobs in the US

Certainly, after finishing this article, I will have more enemies than before. Therefore, before I start, I would like to apologize in advance because this post is going to offend many people being overpaid as compared to the amount of effort they put. Read this article and enjoy, if you are not among the ones listed below. If you are, try to keep profanity to the minimum.

10 – TV Weatherman

Did you know, KNBC weatherman earned over $1,000,000 as inflation adjusted salary since 1997? They get more than $35,000 salary for simply parroting the data collected from National Weather Service. The best part about this job is TV weatherman are not held accountable even if they are completely wrong about the weather.

9 – Real Estate Agents For High-End Properties

An average real estate agent earns more than $60,000 each year. This is because they get paid for simply bring two people in need together. I am not saying they must not be paid for the service. But they certainly don’t deserve to get $30,000 for deal amount of a million. This could have made sense if real estate agents at lower end would have received the same amount. But they receive way lesser than high end agents.

8 – Lawyers

They make hell lot of money every year. Alright, they deserve the money they make during initial days. However, once they gain experience, people pay them like crazy. They take thousands simply for an appointment or reviewing one legal document.

7 – Voice Actor

This job doesn’t require much except for a voice modulation course and willingness to lend their voice. That’s it. They simply get paid to read a printed script on the microphone. Besides, they don’t have to get make-up done, or dress like an actor. In fact, it’s okay even if they don’t brush their teeth. Many have their own studios to work from.

6 Mutual Fund Manager

They earn anywhere from $0 to $150,000 each year. However, they earn more than their salary through commissions and bonuses. All right, they help people to earn money, so they deserve it. But what about the ones that fail to make profit for their clients? Why should they get money if their predictions are not useful at all?

5 – Public School Administrator

The superintendent of Syosset’s Public School in Long Island makes $366,266 every year, excluding $61,222 of other benefits. There are, however, many problems with the school, as is the case with all public schools. I think the teacher teaching children inside the classroom deserve more than the superintendent.

4 – College Football Coach

The annual average income goes up to $35,000. It seems to be a very small figure when you learn Pete Carroll of USC earns more than $4.4 million each year. With a salary of over $3 million Mack Brown, football coach of Texas University, earns more than chancellor of the university. Do you think the coach is doing a more important or difficult work than the chancellor?

3 – Celebrities

Last year, Will Smith earned over $80 million. The average earning for celebrities is in seven figures. They are certainly nice people to watch on-screen. But they don’t really do any value addition to the country in real life. In fact, they cannot do their role of acting in real life without adequate takes. Isn’t a nurse’s job more important than theirs?

2 – An Athlete

Only because somebody can throw a basketball into the basket or fling a rugby ball 60 yards away doesn’t mean they can take away millions of dollars every year. Kobe Bryant of LA Lakers earns $21 million. However, we are at fault. Why do we take our families to watch bunch of young adults fighting for a ball, paying hundreds? Instead, we can have some real entertainment ourselves at the park for free.

1 – Government Employees

Only annual pension of Ronald Deaton, who was working in Dept. of power and water in Los Angeles, is around $317,876 every year. Can you imagine what his salary would have been like? Government of a country or city has been created to serve people, anf not the other way round. Besides, these jobs are the most secure jobs among all mentioned above.
